Advance Ply Tungsten Logo

Advance Ply Tungsten is the highest-specification plywood in the Advance Ply range. It is IS 710 certified boiling waterproof (BWP) marine grade plywood with IS 5509 fire retardant certification, manufactured using EO grade phenol formaldehyde resin for near-zero formaldehyde emissions.

Tungsten is the correct choice for any application where the plywood will face direct or prolonged water exposure: modular kitchen base cabinets, bathroom vanities, under-sink storage, marine construction, and coastal or outdoor applications. It is also specified for hotels, hospitals, schools, and commercial buildings where fire retardant plywood is required by building regulations.

Each sheet is manufactured using HEXAPRO technology: four hydraulic press cycles for superior density and screw-holding capacity, combined with dual Copper-Chrome-Boron chemical treatment for complete termite and borer protection through the full sheet thickness.

Our technology

Why Advance Ply Tungsten performs differently?

300+

Hours BWP

EO grade phenol formaldehyde resin produces near-zero formaldehyde emissions — safe for kitchens, children’s rooms, bedrooms, hospitals, and enclosed spaces.

4x

Hydraulic press cycles

HEXAPRO technology presses each sheet 4 times under hydraulic pressure versus the industry standard of 2 times. Eliminates internal air gaps and maximises veneer bonding.

2x

Chemical treatment

Dual Copper-Chrome-Boron (CCB) treatment penetrates through the full sheet thickness for life-long termite and borer protection. Not just a surface coating.

EO

Grade resin

EO grade phenol formaldehyde resin produces near-zero formaldehyde emissions — safe for kitchens, children’s rooms, bedrooms, hospitals, and enclosed spaces.

1,600N

Screw holding capacity

Screw holding capacity above 1,600N. Significantly higher than standard plywood, ensuring joints, hinges, and fittings hold under load for the life of the furniture.

60+

Minutes fire resistance

IS 5509 certified. Flame penetration resistance above 60 minutes. Required for hotels, hospitals, schools, high-rise buildings, and any project under fire safety regulations.

Most plywood in India is pressed twice during manufacturing. Advance Ply uses HEXAPRO technology, our proprietary 6-stage process that presses every sheet four times and treats it twice before it leaves the factory.

Four press cycles eliminate the internal air gaps that cause standard plywood to swell, warp, and delaminate over time. Each additional press cycle increases the density of the sheet, improves bonding between veneers, and produces a surface that holds nails and screws more firmly than 2-press plywood.

The two-stage chemical treatment delivers complete termite and borer protection through the full thickness of every sheet, not just the surface layer. Standard single-treatment plywood can be penetrated by termites through the core within 3 to 5 years in humid Indian conditions. HEXAPRO-treated plywood resists this throughout its life.

Where to use

Recommended Applications for Advance Ply Tungsten

Modular kitchens

Base cabinets, wall units, under-sink storage. IS 710 BWP is the required grade for all kitchen applications due to daily steam and water exposure.

Bathrooms

Vanity units, under-sink cabinets, wet-area storage panels, bathroom wall cladding. BWP grade prevents swelling and delamination from constant humidity

Commercial Buildings

Hotels, hospitals, schools, shopping malls, corporate offices. IS 5509 fire retardant certification meets building regulation compliance requirements.

Marine Construction

Boat interiors, dock structures, jetty boarding, coastal buildings. IS 710 BWP marine grade withstands prolonged direct water and saltwater exposure.

Outdoor Applications

Garden furniture, balcony flooring, sheltered outdoor cladding, outdoor kitchens. Edge sealing recommended to protect cut edges from moisture.

Staircases

Load-bearing stair treads and risers requiring high-density plywood with superior screw-holding capacity. Minimum 19mm thickness recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about Advance Ply Tungsten

Q1. What is Advance Ply Tungsten used for?
Advance Ply Tungsten is used for modular kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, under-sink storage, marine construction, coastal outdoor furniture, and any application requiring IS 710 certified BWP plywood. It is also specified for hotels, hospitals, schools, and high-rise buildings due to its IS 5509 fire retardant certification.
Yes. Advance Ply Tungsten carries active IS 710:2024 certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards. The certification confirms it withstands boiling water immersion for more than 300 hours without delamination. Certification documentation is available on request for architects and contractors who need compliance records for project submissions. Call 18002033359.
EO grade resin is the highest formaldehyde emission classification for plywood resins, producing near-zero formaldehyde emissions. This makes Advance Ply Tungsten safe for use in kitchens, bedrooms, children’s rooms, and healthcare spaces where indoor air quality is critical. Standard plywood uses E1 or E2 grade resin with significantly higher formaldehyde emissions.
19mm Tungsten is the standard thickness for modular kitchen cabinet carcass construction. 12mm for internal shelves. 6mm for back panels and drawer bottoms. All kitchen cabinet applications require IS 710 BWP grade to withstand daily steam and humidity. Using MR or BWR grade in a kitchen typically leads to swelling and delamination within 2 to 3 years.
HEXAPRO technology presses each Tungsten sheet 4 times under hydraulic pressure, compared to the industry standard of 2 times. This eliminates internal air gaps, maximises veneer bonding, and produces a denser sheet with superior screw-holding capacity above 1,600N. This is combined with dual CCB chemical treatment for complete termite protection through the full sheet thickness.
